Valve Loses 'The Black Box'
'The Orange Box' To Be Only Offering

Valve has canned their Black Box edition of Half-Life 2: Episode 2 in favor of the full-packaged Orange Box. The Black Box SKU was only going to have three products as part of the compilation, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Portal and Team Fortress 2, allowing a slimmed down package for any gamer whom had already purchased Valve's previous offerings.
Valve has decided to can the idea and will only be releasing The Orange Box which will contain five products, the aforementioned three along with Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One. The Orange Box is still targeted for an October release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 with PC gamers getting another break at $49.99 compared to the next-gen price of $59.99.
The PC edition will come with three separate activation codes which Valve's Doug Lombardi had the following explanation as to why, "This way a PC Orange Box owner can give away their Half-Life 2 or Episode One unused Steam product codes if they don't need a copy of those games,"
