Phantom EFX has announced an all-new FPS in development by 8Monkey Labs. Darkest of Days will be a story rich FPS revolving around time-traveling to some of the darkest points in human history. The game will be powered by 8Monkey's own engine, the proprietary Marmoset engine. Darkest of Days will be the first foray for Phantom EFX into hardcore PC games and the first large title from the new 8Monkey Labs. Darkest of Days will be released for PC and Mac in the unspecified future.
8Monkey will be handing players a combination of futuristic and historical weapons as they jump between various times including World War I and the U.S. Civil War eras just to name a few. Combat situations will also differ according to the time frame, with stealth, combat, artillery and sniper missions all being thrown into the mix. Perhaps the most interesting aspect is that players will be playing both sides against the middle by fighting for one side of the struggle, only to arrive later fighting for the other side to fix mistakes. The entire time players will be trying to discover the secrets of the mysterious organization that they are working for.
"All of us at Phantom EFX and 8Monkey are dedicated to making an immersive, exciting and completely well-rounded title for our first venture into the hardcore gaming arena," said Aaron Schurman, CEO, Phantom EFX. "We’re confident that Darkest of Days is going to exceed our expectations and absolutely blow away any fans of first-person shooters – especially those craving a deep and engrossing story to drive the action."
