Another one of my previews has been posted over at FileFront, this time it covers the "sequel" (though it more of an add-on) to 2002's Divine Divinity, called Beyond Divinity. Here's the usual snippet:
Developer Larian Studios came out of nowhere in 2002 with a great hack and slash game with one hell of an odd name: Divine Divinity. Fast forward to 2004, where Larian Studios is working on a follow-up to the original Divine Divinity, called Beyond Divinity. FileFront’s own Tim Gravenites interviewed Digital Jester, in the interview, Digital Jester calls the game “more of an add-on than a sequel.” In Beyond Divinity, you play a goody-too-shoes kind of character, who is soul-fused with an evil, hot-tempered “death knight.” It’s sort of a Siamese Twins syndrome; you don’t want anything bad to happen to him, as it’s your life on the line (and vice versa). The game boasts an updated graphics-engine as well, with new spell effects and full 3D character models, instead of the previous game’s sprite-based characters.
