I think I should just admit that I am a complete geek. I don't know how else to explain the unreasonable amount of joy and happiness I felt when I got the new Star Wars stamps at the post office. Just a huge surge of happiness down to my toes. Here I thought the superhero stamps were the highlight of my post office adventures. No so. How can people buy boring old stamps when there are so many fun ones out. I love the movie star ones too. And the new Jamestown ones I will have to get just because they are triangle shaped.
I have decided that I am going to do a series of ATC's (Artists Trading Cards) with them. Just for myself. I had wanted to use them in the mail and also in my art but decided I am just being ridiculously cheap. I was going to mail my grandma a card and say save the stamp and mail it back to me. How lame am I? I mean they're 41 cents. I don't think it's going to break me to not mail something with them. The problem with using modern elements is the copyright issues are such a headache but if it's my own piece of fan art, we're cool. Not with the prequel ones, just the originals. I was going to limit to three but I have decided that's impossible.
I have to include Leia and r2d2. "Help me Obi Wan, you're my only hope". Han Solo and Chewbacca. I don't know what I'll use for my saying on that one. Yoda - absolutely. I would like to use Boba Fette but I don't know if Bobba Fette ever said anything. Of course, I don't think there is a law that I have to include a quote on my ATC. And I call myself a Star Wars geek. A true Star Wars geek would know every word that Boba Fette thought about uttering. Okay, I'll admit I'm a Star Wars geek wannabe. Luke and Obi Wan and of course, Darth Vader. What no Jar Jar Binks? No Ewoks? What a shocker - lol! There is a huge C3PO though I have to admit that I always found C3PO annoying to the extreme. I thought he deserved to be shot by storm troopers.
I think I am going to make my own background using black glossy cardstock and pearl ex. They have the coolest new pearl ex out that doesn't have to be sealed or mixed wtih anything else but since I have the powders, I might as well use the powders.
