Do you gain more influence points if you have more than one colony in a high influence system?

1. For example ..if a system's influence lists 12 ..and
there are 2 16 level planets there..do you get more than
12 for colonizing both of them?

2. Also i noticed a system with influence 50 and no planets...is there a way to gain that inluence from it
later in the game by some tech i have heretofar not
obtained?

Influence spills over into adjacent sectors. Having ships in a sector seems to give a small influence effect on sectors.

A system influence is made up from the individual influence of the planets and any extra bonuses. Lots of colonies in a single system all with influence improvements will give a very high star system influence.
