MAIN MENU NOT WORK?

Only "play game" and "exit" work on the first menu. Where is the galactic encyclopedia? I looked in docs directory and it only has a bunch of jpgs?

Also clicking on website icons in the menu does nothing.

How do I download a pdf manual?

* I bought the download edition and downloaded the whole zip in one shot and also the bonus pack.

use stardock central to download the PDF manual, u should have seen it when using SDC to download the game...

I found I had to have my browser up and running to get those options to work. I mentioned it to the Stardock people while chatting with them, but I didn't send in a formal report of the problem.

I'm having the same problem with all the links in the main menu (except play game and exit). It doesn't make any difference if a browser is running.

They work if you install from CD. For whatever reason, the downloaded version leaves those links broken.

Interesting...since I installed from CD (I have a 26.4k connection, "no thanks" to downloading). I did install GalCiv first, THEN Stardock, then updated to 1.02.

Oh, hm. Sorry for the generalization, then. Mine all work. Same order of operations as you.

What web browser are you using? Maybe it screwed up the associations in a way that breaks the GalCiv app.

Now that's certainly possible. I use Mozilla 1.3, although I do have IE6 installed (and I tried restoring it as default to see if that would work...no dice).
