TEC Political History

Hello, all. I am quite interested in playing Sins of a Solar Empire. I was wondering if anyone could tell the history of the Trader Emergency Coalition. In specific, I am looking for the history of how it came to be. I was hoping that the history was elaborated (greatly) on in the game. If anyone would be so kind as to write a short narrative. . .

I have read the race information on TEC and I have some questions about it. . .

Was the Trade Order a interplanerity governing body sort of like the United Nations is today? Was it a military organization? (Can it be compared to the United States government or one of it's functions in anyway? Or is it like the Federation Council in Star Trek with no Starfleet?)

What was the political structure of the Trade Order? A one planet, one vote? Proportional voting? Like the United Nations Security Council in that it is made of a few countries at a time?

What is the "independent Opulentsia"?

What exactly is the "Trader Emergency Coalition"? Is it a military organization? Is it the official name of the government that is in chage of a military (if so, then what is the name of the military organization?)? (Like in Star Trek, is Trader Emergency Coalition more like Starfleet (the military organization) or more like the United Federation of Planets (the entire group of planets/the alliance)?)

I really appreciate any help that you all can give me.     I really like to look at how political structures in science fiction series (Star Trek, Star Wars, BSG, Babylon 5, etc.) are structured. (Weird, ain't I?)

Not much is known of the races backgrounds yet, but you properly read that, the TEC is rich, and are good traders. When the Vasari enters the TEC peaceful space, the TEC starts to convert there tradeships into more combatable ships. They are not military strong, as they havent had the need to research for weapon technology, as they have been living in peace for very long.
The Vasari on the other hand, is an ancient race, with old high technology, but are fleeing from something very powerful, that even they, had to retreat from there homeworld, and only stop at a few times, to resupply there resources, but the TEC is in the way, and then war breaks out.
The Advent is the outcast of the TEC, as they have been using Psitech. The Advent then returns to reclaim their prophecies.

But about Political history, is anybodys guess atm.
But im sure we will be getting more info on that, at some time

I like to think of the TEC as a comprehensive government of global corporations that have allied to maximize profits over a long process of subverting independent governments (Not much different from the way it is in the USA today).

I think the trade order is just a loose alliance of planets to facilitate trade between them, and the TEC is a military government that took control of the trader worlds when the Vasari came.

Aye, thank you all, mates! I shall keep myself ready to check the new website for any information. I certainly will check the game out when it comes out. One word to the developers: include an in depth story about the history (even if it is just a text document) because that always makes the game play more enjoyable.
