Bought the Galactic Civilizations: Altarian Prophecy - Want to play the BETA

You need to enter your serial number into the registration section on Tools->register products->games->galciv altarian prophesy.

You then need to go to software tab and change the bottom left tage to "show pre-release versions".

Finally you need to click on the galatic civ - altarian prop. selection under the software tab and click install.

They should be able to sort it out. Anyone who has bought the Altarinan prophesy expansion should now be able to download the beta,

Stardock don't seem to be getting anywhere with my problem.
So maybe someone here can?

I see the download server is trying to install it into
Programs/Stardock/Dregin Net/Altaran Prophecy

I have: Programs/Dregin/Gal Civ
And : Programs/Stardock//Sd Central

Both installed automatically by the software.
Do you think this is the problem?

I realise you have more pressing problems, like getting the teething problems ironed out in AP. and the final version made available.

We've reproduced the AP download errors internally. Hope to have a fix Monday.

i'm still getting a 64MB file (it used to be 18MB) and the http 8 error. i'm on a 33.6K modem but the download speeds are currently a lot higher than me ancient modem can cope with. a bit weird....but the file now appears to 'resume'....

Anybody who is having download problems, please install http://mi.stardock.com/private/sdc131_internal.exe. Start it from the "Stardock Central - DEBUG" shortcut on the desktop. Try and let it get AP.

When its unhappy, right click in the debug window, Select All, and copy the text into a .txt file. Send that .txt file as an attachment to [email protected], please.

When I did that, my current game became corrupt.
No submission box.
Not sure if the two are connected.

I uninstalled Gal Civ and reinstalled it.
Updated it automatically from Stardock central with no problems.
AP would not download.
Do you want me to send the debug file again?

Seems to me that the people having problems, are the ones who installed Gal Civ from the CD.
It puts it in C/Programs/Dregin Which is not what AP is looking for.

i think you are right about the directories. the AP download appears to be designed for drengin subscribers. it looks for a directory i don't have, and when i change it, it doesn't like it
