Rookie Player needs advice

1. Is it possible to colonize multiple planets in the same star system? (e.g., when you start the game in Sol with only Earth colonized, can I colonize another planet in the Sol system, Sol IV? - HOW????)
2. A related question is when I colonize a new Star system that has multiple colonizable planets how do I specify which planet the colony ship lands on and then how do I progress to colonize additional planets in that same star system (i.e., question 1).
Thanks to anyone who can help me.
I am a first time 4X TBS player who got burned on MOO3 and absolutely love GalCiv BUT the game manual sucks.

1. Yes, unfort. you have to build a colonizer ship for each planet.
2. Move your cursor over each planet - you'll see a colonizer. Click on the one you want to land on.

Took me a bit to figure that out the first time :)
