Women and Men: Two Different Species

There has been a lot of posts recently on JU about the reported differences between women and men.
Is it time to split the two into seperate species?
Would that be more convenient for some?
One could always try to exterminate the other and we could call it a wildlife crisis.
As far as i can see, women and men love each other. Need each other. Seek each other out. Make weird little things together that mutate into weird big things that happen to be either women or men that start the whole cycle again.
As far as I know the men in this world that are likely to cause a women harm are the same men that are likely to cause harm to other men. Evil is its name and it doesn't particularly discriminate, even though the way it manifests itself to gender might.
God help me if the gap between men and women starts to shrink (I am not talking about the gap in equality). This gap is exactly why I seek the company and friendship of the fairer, more intelligent sex.
I think women and men understand each other as much as men understand other men and women understand other women.
We are all human and we are all flawed, communications wise and otherwise.
If we are so antagonistic towards each other, why is it that most of us spend our weekends seeking the other out.
Sex would be the easy answer, but it so often ends up with us tethereing ourselves to each other for life.
A fortunate outcome given that we then have a whole lifetime to try "figure" each other out.
