Daily Love Tip #45

Do Not Expect Your Spouse To Meet All Your Needs

A good marriage demands reliance upon one another and a mutual effort to satisfy one another's needs. However, even the most devoted couples aren't capable of meeting each other's needs completely.

Surround yourself with a safety net of relationships--close friends and extended family--in order to stay emotionally healthy. Making your spouse exclusively responsible for meeting every emotional, physical and spiritual need can damage even the most promising relationship. Acquire at least a basic knowledge of how to survive should your spouse be gone for an extended period. And remember to rely primarily upon God--not any human being--to satisfy the deepest yearnings of your soul.

No one but God can meet all your needs, but He does it well.
