Ship Control Across Galaxies

Hello,

I like how in games with more then one galaxy everyone starts within one particular galaxy. This makes sense for both single player and multiplayer. I think of the current beta as a multiplayer style game - the single player you could start as a single planet and have a faction leave the planet for another planet and then access to ships and stuff grows as time goes on etc etc. Don't get me wrong I like the current setup for all players starting in one galaxy - this puts the pressure on players to A.) Rush their opponents B.) Get the ability to jump to another galaxy asap. C.) Combo of both. This makes it very strategic.

The current galaxy travel system works nicely with one particular caveat. When I try to position my ships around the star system so that they are closest to where enemy ships would appear they often end up being commanded to go to a planet instead. I would like to be able to position them within the star system like I could for a planet without it assuming I wanted it to travel (and if I did I would have clicked on the planet not within the stars gravity well).

If you haven't already tried the patch posted yesterday, give it a go. It adjusted both galaxy generation and some ship movement issues around stars.

there should be a button for whether or not people start in the same galaxy.

yea on this topic planets land masses should be randomly created so all the traan planets dont look the same is this going to be implemented into the final game?

There won't be random planet maps, that would be a nightmare. If we had to do it over for GC2, we wouldn't have done random maps again. Each planet type has several different textures and that's what will be maintained (though more may be added).
