Hi All

Just spent a few hrs playing with the update.

here is a few comments

on the new game window. Screen 2 of 3. If i change the "flag type" beside players name, it doesn't carry over to screen (with all the players and colors) or in the game. This used to work.

Are Cap ship faster a bit?

Ship having problem to find ways to the other side of the planet. I had a ship stuck in a asteroids around a central asteroid for 1 min while my cap ship and other ship were fighting... it was just trying to join them.

Planned structure can still be attacked

Ship are bad at intercepting. They do not take into account the speed / direction of a object. therefore, they normally end up behind it even if faster. For exemple, they will always run / direct the "at this moment" position of a ship they are trying to intercept. that is very bad vectoring. Short of being in from of them, you can basically go around any ship of same speed or less if you do it manually. You would normally set a intercept course based on the ship staying on course. My complain was on my ship attacking but using this to my advantage, i was able to explore the 1 entire system before getting a single shot on a scout frigate. that is kinda of flawed.

Ship get stuck between each other, do not use the Z axis to go over other ship. worst when some ships are standing still

Issue attacking the AI
I had a fleet of ship and i indicated to them to ignore a cluster of Gauss platform and attack the planet. the platform where well out of reach. I had to keep re-ordering this even if attacking the gauss platform for my fleet was obvious suicide. very annoying. i wanted to have time to bring re-enforcement but there seem to be no way to tell my fleet to way. Eventually i figured out how to change the "auto attack" feature which is not mapped to any keys by default.

I was trying to get one of my CAP ship out of a way from a cluster of Gauss platform. Even if there was absolutely no obstacle in the way, the PATH was being re-draw to go and escape the cluster of platform BEHIND them first the back where i was pointing. using mouse interface. (I lost that CAP ship)

Javelin who have a longer range then Gauss platform where getting too close within the range of the enemy for no reason (and getting blow up. what is the point of long range if you get too close?

i had a similar experience except i ordered the ship out of the system

and for some reason it wanted to take a tour of the planet first.

i guess all that ice got in the captians eyes.

i had a over 3000 hp left and it went the wrong way

yea stupid things have happened like that 2 me i have had all the things above happen in my games

I had the same problem last night. I blindly jumped in to a system with vastly outnumbering forces and after blowing the Jump disruptor's I ran for it, which resulted in two of the Cap ships (Marza and Kol) wanting to go back and fight, eager buggers. I did however manage to get them both out of the system in the end by disabling their auto-cast abilities and setting autoattack range to weapons range. My Akkan ship left the system just fine.

What i do to avoid ships breaking formations is use attack at weapon range for all except fighters, and manually chose your targets. You can shift click your attack orders, and queue your targets. I wasnt aware of the autocast bug, because i didnt experience it like you did. Im glad they got a hotfix in work.

I jumped in a kol to an enemy system, it was to test another bug, it was outnumbered, and I tried to get it to move to the way it came, but it wasn't having it, it kept locking its guns on the enemy ships and ignoring my move order, it was destroyed soon after,

yea its gay and the Ai sends thier own cap ships on impossible missions and they dont run away. like 1 kol lev 5 (thier flag ship) jumped in by it self. It was against my fleet of 3 cap ships 2 kol and marza all lev 5 -7 and support ships arround 20 light frigs 5 aa frigs 10 lms and some other orbital def like 4 hangars and 5 cannons and it alone came. When it got down to 2k health it just sat thier exchnaging volleys and made no attept to run it just got it self wooped. If the Ai had any kind of a brain then it would have at least given it escorts let alone let it get its arse wooped and not even trying to let it get away maby this is tied in to it not being able to jump cos it wants to use its abilities and this happenes to the Ai but i dont know. The Ai is alot harder now they make huge fleets of light frigates (which is good cos its fun when it is hard) and a few cap ships but thats about all i see them build and they dont reely resarch any combat things like armour upgrade ect. Maby they should change umm so they spend less money on bounty and more on reaserch.

From my perspective, there are two issues worth addressing in a hotfix:

1) Culture from a destroyed empire remaining on the map, allowing their resurrection.
2) Due to rounding perhaps? it is impossible to build ships up to the ship limit, only to limit-1.

when is hot fix coming out today or tmoz?
