Games for Windows Gets 'Gears of War' & 'Viva Pinata'

'Gears' Bringing New Content To PC

Microsoft has announced as part of its E3 press conference that Viva Pinata and Gears of War will both be heading to PCs as part of its Games for Windows initiative. The titles were released in the same week last November with the latter becoming a raving success and Viva Pinata being pushed more into a cult favorite status.

The more popular Gears of War will also be giving PC players some additional content when the game is released in the near future. Epic Games' Cliff Blezinsky showed off some new multiplayer modes and maps as well as five new single-player levels. One of the levels will include the battle versus the hulking brumack which was not included in the Xbox360 version even though he appeared in a cutscene. The new levels will be retconned into the games existing story directly before the final train level. Epic Games will also include a level editor for players of the PC version.

Can't wait to run GoW in 1920x1200. I wonder if the online multiplayer modes will be cross-platform like Shadowrun's.

I believe they're supposed to be.
