'Spider-Man: Friend or Foe' Coming To PCs

First Co-op Spider-man Game Coming This Fall

Activision has announced a new Spider-man title that will tie-in stories from the movies and comics of the wall-crawler. Spider-Man: Friend or Foe will be slinging onto PCs and consoles this fall with an original story.

Players will be able to defeat and then team with numerous Super Villains from the movies including Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Venom and Sandman in a bid to stop a worldwide threat. Players will be able to control numerous Super Hero and Super Villian sidekicks along with their hero enabling them to switch between character and execute team combos. For the first time players will be able to play with a friend in a Spider-man game in a "a unique co-op mode in which a friend can join the game at any time and take control of Spider-Man’s sidekick as they battle through the game side-by-side and replay favorite levels."

The title is actually being developed by three separate developers with the creation being separated by specific platforms. The PC version is being created by Beenox Studios who as a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision since 2005 have ported numerous titles to Windows including the titles from the Tony Hawk and X-Men Legends franchises. Next Level Games of Mario Strikers fame will be helming the Xbox360, Wii and PS2 development and Artificial Mind & Movement, developers of Happy Feet, will tackle the handheld port.
