New Nvidia Beta drivers claim to fix nvlddmkm issue

if you haven't installed your new beta drivers then get over there and do it. i think they have finally gotten to the point where they are now taking aim at making dreams work with their drivers. lot of fixes and bugs addressed in the new driver................make sure though that you uninstall the drivers and then manually delete the files from the system32 file as they are not deleted or overwritten...hope these drivers can help some people who are still having problems.....

Note that these drivers are only for GF8 series cards right now. The 162.22's are the latest for all other cards (www.guru3d.com).

Dreams still crash when vista runs into any sort of trouble and re-starting dreams is getting old.

I've given up trying to run Dreams at all. Sigh.

Also 163.11 caused some reverse color pixelation in a couple of games I play quite regularly, such as the Dawn of War series, and if I remember HL2 had some reverse coloring as well. I took them off after about an hour or so and rolled back to 160.05.

I have grabbed 162.18 and 162.22 to try this evening. Though I am skeptical at best.

Hawkeye666, can you give a slightly more detailed description of the problems you ran into with 163.11? Also, can you try HL2 and see if the problem exists there as well? I'm assuming the problem didn't exist in 160.05? Thanks for your help.

With the latest 163.11 drivers and my 320MB 8800gts, when i run the new World in Conflict beta for more than 10 minutes at high settings with 2x AA, it has the nvlddmkm driver restart error which crashes the game. If I turn the settings down to where I'm getting 30-40fps it works better but I like the quality at 20fps so I hope nvidia gets their act together and fixes this. I also have random explorer crashes when using dreamscene

Has anyone run into problems with Dreamscenes using the new Nvidia beta driver (163.44)?

Yeah, I got a BSOD in nvlddmkm.sys after upgrading to 163.44 and changing scenes a few times. Haven't stressed it since, cause I'm playing WOW with it running in the background. Also haven't tried stressing it with dynamic scenes, but those have usually run far more stable for me.

Quick note: dynamic desktops are working great for me. Just got Desktop Collage, and it doesn't suffer from the crashes (so far).

I have yet to get Flight Sim X to work properly with my 8800GTS, looks like yet another try. Dreamscene can be buggy as well, not with my ATI equipped machine, just the one I use the most of course which has the 8800. Ugh

Viking, what is Flight Sim X doing incorrectly on your 8800 GTS? Thanks.
