The Microsoft PR team via Gamerscoreblog.com has released a few more details pertaining to the newly announced Gears of War for Games for Windows Live. The team first trumpeted up the how jaw-droopingly awesome the title looks in 1280p before asserting that the controls have been moved to PC flawlessly. The juiciest information comes at the end of the post, indicating that GoW will be hitting Windows XP and Windows Vista, although Epic Games' CliffyB has stated that a DirectX 10 version isn't 100% at this time. Lastly they put to rest the unanswered question of cross-platform capabilities stating that the title would "not support cross-platform play, but it will support Games for Windows LIVE on XP."

Hmm, well that's probably going to be disappointing to some people. Doesn't speak very highly of Games for Windows either. Microsoft continues to disappoint me as the platform holder for the PC.

The only reason I even have Xbox Live Gold is because someone bought it for me.  I refuse to pay for something on a console that I have gotten free for years on the PC, and even other consoles (Dreamcast 1999).
