Start error

from Stardock Forums
I chose the biggest galaxy and all races, drengin evil/easy, another good/meduim and the rest default. When pressing next/done the game crashed.

The last info in the debug.err is:
Debug Message: Reading Star Names

Sadly I dont have any more info and it didnt let me reproduce the error-situation.

Are you saying that it didn't happen again? I've started a game with a gigantic galaxy a couple of times today and had no trouble. Could be a memory issue.

Happened to me a few times, too. Only on max galaxy size though.
Nothing helpful in the debug file either.

I've only played Gigantic galaxies in all the game I've started so far.

Haven't had any problems with it, yet :)

If it happens again, let me know what other programs you're running, and check your system resources. The gigantic galaxy takes up the most memory so that's the only thing that I can think of, off hand.

Sure, I had the crach on my WinNT4 at work and a bunch of apps in the background. I'll launch it again and some more to see if I can provoke it :-)
