'Far Cry 2' Officially Announced

Publisher/Developer Ubisoft has finally announced the direct sequel to their jungle-laden FPS Far Cry. Far Cry 2 will be heading to the PC in Spring 2008.
Crytek, the independent German studio that developed the original title will not be returning for the sequel. With them busy on Crysis and Ubisoft owning the intellectual property, the French publishing house has decided to develop the sequel internally at their Montreal studio. Few details were announced other than that development started but Tony Key, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft commented that, "We are confident that Far Cry 2 will have the same impact again on the FPS genre landscape."
