Stardock troubles

I can't upgrade to GC:DA II 1.6 because my Stardock will not connect to the server. I keep getting a message saying that possible internet settings or firewall are preventing me from contacting the server. I have my firewallk shutdown and I set the lowest settings on my IE and still Stardock won't let me connect to the server. Does any one have a solutions for this? Thank you.

Not that this is any help, but I too am having the exact same issue. I just bought the game online and i'm getting a Error 1001 when I try to connect. I'm running Vista and have sdcentral.exe set as an exception through the windows firewall. I even tried turning off the firewall and still no go. Honestly, sounds like a serverside problem to me.

Both servers seem to be up right now, so if neither of you can log in still, I'd advise contacting [email protected].

Okay, stardock support has been emailed, so hopefully that will help. If anyone else has had similar issues, any help would be appreciated.

I guess I'll have to e-mail support to. It sucks that they made such great improvements and I can't download the patch for a game I own.. very frustrating.

I got it working it was simple as restarting my computer. It appears even though I shut off my firewall yesterday night my computer it was still some how blocking access to the server. The next day (today) I started up my pc and went to Stardock and was able to log in. My firewall prompted me asking permission to allow Stardock to access the server which I allowed and I logged in.

Then I had problems updating DA I put in my serial number from the back of the cd jewel case and it said it was the wrong one. I asked for my serial number to be e-mailed to me. I put in that serial number and it was invalid too. Finally I specifically scrolled down to the DA folder and asked for the serial number it was e-mailed to me and it was a different number. I used it and it was invalid. I minimized Stardock central to search online and when I got back to stardock central I find it downloading the update... rofl!

WTH this is a great game but why make it so damn complicated with updating. Man it should be as easy as going to the webiste and dowloading the update but they have to fudge things up with this stardock crappola. Luckily I got it working but I know others out there are still having problems with it. Now it looks like Stardock it self needs an update

It turns out DA was not able to update to 1.6 there was an error but the tuturiols, media and movie was able to update. Ok here is the deal. I bought GC:DA Gold edition which comes with GC and DA is included. I have the serial number and it's in the back of the jewel case. I enter this serial number and I keep getting invalid serial number. Now I can't freaking update my very own game. I'll keep trying...
