Gameplay: Random events Q&A

In order to make some sense of the massive increase in postings, I thought it might be helpful to start slightly more general threads. For example a Q&A thread on events. I'll start us off with a question ;)
Q1) Do (and if so where) do Zoos & Prisons get built?

In the "Zoo" and "Prison" events - after an empire is selected to "host", is the building "randomly" placed on a planet or appear as "build able" as a social project. Or does it simply get built out in abstract land? :notsure:

I ask because last night when I "won" the right to host the Zoo I was unable to find it neither as a "build-able" on any queue, nor in the "details" list of any planet. And imagine my disappointment when the zoo "lapsed" after two years - with neither a single escape, nor a chance to vote to keep running.

Please advise. Thanks.

Okay... so maybe I'm the only one with questions about these events.

Anyone want to clue me in?

Thanks - Don

You just have a zoo. It's a bonus to something or the other, and sets a flag that may cause another random event later, similar to the prison. You don't get a separate building, or any notice on the planet screen. If you look at the UP screen under foreign policy, it'll have it there though.

No vote to keep it going, either...it's a limited-time bonus.

I believe it gives you income that falls under 'tribute'. Not positive though, because I always vote to give it to someone far away from me.

My question is at what morale percentage is it possible for the I-League to snatch your system?

"My question is at what morale percentage is it possible for the I-League to snatch your system?"

I would like to know that too. I am spending tonns of money on destabilising Drengin and on one of their planets the moral is 1. It has been like that for a very long time yet it hasnt rebelled to join the I-League.

+Drengin are very evil+intelligent (dont know if that matters)

Russian, i have noticed that most of my worlds revolt if they go under 35%. This may change dependant on difficulty level, but i cannot remember a planet ever defecting above this.

Maybe having a number of ships in orbit of a system prevent the system from revolting in the same way it prevents culture shock?
