Yay!

Good read! And some new pics!

Also my favorite comment of the article! "One of the best and worst things about this year-long beta testing process is that we receive so many great ideas that we want to get as many of them as possible implemented, but they just don't stop coming! At some point closer to release we'll have to cut it off, unfortunately, and save the unused ideas for the expansion. Aside from the other two factions and multiplayer, most of the content is remaining is confidential but I'll drop a few hints: more environmental content, more NPCs, more ship customization, more UI advancements, more additions to the TEC (the currently accessible faction), more music, modding tools and much more!"

O yeah, Mongoose is 16-17, not you...

You got me and kosc mixed upp? For shame!

Multi, you are 100% correct - that is my current favorite screenshot

I personally prefer the second one at the top of the thread, I love the way the camera is tilted to abstractly show the Kol and the...uh...other ship in the foreground, it screams beauty shot, but its still cool.

lol it probably is or well i wish it was my home that would be cool being a captain of a vasari battleship

The first screenshot features a Vasari structure. Can anyone guess what it is?

It has to be the planet sucker thing, or... maybe a repair bay?

I'm gonna go with...Phase Gate?

I'd of guessed that too, but why does it have little arms ?

To focus tachyons or gravito-magnetic fields on an infinitesimally small singularity to tear a hole in space-time through which a wormhole can be channeled thereby creating a wormhole accessing the alternate dimension known as "Fraser space".

Or not.

Well since Craig didnt say lordkosc was right about it was "some sorta phase gate , or maybe the planet sucker thing the Vasari" we can rule that out.
And Craig said structure,so that means its not a ship.
Since the Vasari is on the run, and they are a alien race, there structures could be alot of things..
It doesnt look like a research/culture center though.
Looking at the structure it has robotic arms, so it could some factory for frigats or cap ships
other then that i have no idea

LMAO

Multianna and Heroine4life got it! Zagati & LordKosc - very close (you'll see why when Vasari comes out.)

O.o, dont tell me they only have four buildings that do all their work since they have been running and have learned very well how to compact their resources to save the maximum amount of volume and mass...

btw, are cap ships going to have more expansive trees for leveling or is going to be set to the lazy-dev-10-level-standard-for-basically-any-game-ever form of leveling?
Haha, 10 levels isn't because we are lazy - it's a number that happens to solve a number of problems very well. But yes, there are going to be other ways to improve your capital ships.

Hey, its a "tried-and-true" recipe... Even if it does get a bit boring Infinite levels FTW!

Um, at the risk of sounding stupid, factory *and* repair platform maybe?
yea i think it might be a pahse gate that transports the stuf it has sucked of the planet some where but its just a guess and that would look cool or maby its a phase gate that allows quike travel for traders or fleets or easy escape. Or its a phase gate and repair station together.
well I think that it makes ships that can transform any element into sqrls. These sqrls would then be distributed throughout the fleet and used as sustenance, allowing the people to work longer and repair ships better.

i dont really like the idea of infinite levels, 25 just seems like a better number to me, it allows for more customization throughout the leveling process, and seems more ideal for games that are going to last nine hours.

Eh, obviously there will need to be a cap of some kind, but personally I prefer infinite levels with a curve based leveling approach E. G. The stats are capped at some value, and each level gets you closer to (but never reaching or exceeding) that value.
i would personally like that too, but the devs have quite a bit on their hands, and balancing every cap ship for an infinilevel curve would be kinda hard. Not that 25 wouldnt be hard, it just seems more like a reasonable number.
Eet, since since the curve would be a diminishing returns curve that approaches but never reaches, you would have exactly that same effect... whatever the results for 25 are, would be the maximum for the curve. I don't see where the extra effort would come in since either way you'd have to play with the rate at which you approach the maximum...
you would have to choose where along that curvethe skills should be placed, how diminishing the returns would be, and i forgot what i was going to put here >.<. doesnt really matter though if the devs say it says at ten... OHHH DEVVSSSSS
