Multiple Race Faction?

Is there a faction that contains more then one race? (This is purely a story question and does not affect the gameplay). All too often I find games fall into the chiche of one RACE vs. another. Halo avoided that cliche. Although there's nothing wrong with it, I find it tiring to see aliens kill all humans (or vise versa) over and over again in different games. I'd like one of the factions to contain atleast more then one race (ex. humans working with aliens)

Eh, technically TEC and advent are the same race (I think)... that work for you?

The TEC and Advent are both human, though the Advent have skewed from your home-grown humans. The Vasari Empire was composed of many species, but most of those (if not all) were left behind in the exodus to fend for themselves.

well the vasari could bring some of the other species with them.
like each species have there own ships so the frigate section could have a different race for each frigate. but scince there were all apart of the same empire, you would have to change ship design just mention the species of the ship info card...when you make them

I don't think the other races were doing too much ship designing. The Vasari weren't a coalition of equal races. The Vasari race found other, less advanced races, and ruled over them. Since the surviving Vasari are part of the Dark Fleet, they will be mostly of the Vasari race, as Yarlen said.

They say MOSTLY but not all. So who consists of the rest of the Dark Fleet. The other races? Sure other races are less advance, but there's no reason why they couldn't assimilate some of them into their military as grunts.

As someone said "They dont have to know how the weapon works to use it"

i hated grunts... elites were a bit easy IMO though, seemed tougher in the books.

how did we just jump to Halo?

or are am i hallucinating again?

BTW: if the vasari are ruling over the other species and not using them as grunts.
they could by the slaves or engineers just treated badly.

lol, the engineers were treated pretty nicely in halo as I recall, just the grunts were beaten up

Well, yes and no. Engineers in Halo were just floating metroid thingies that didn't care for the war and just repaired whatever needed repairing. (One even repaired Master Chief's disrupted shield for absolutely no reason and was shot for it )

I see no reason why the Vasari didn't implement any of the assimilated races into their fleet It wont affect the gameplay, it'll just require a small tweeking in the story to implement

Because they're arrogant idjuts who just don't see any need? And do see the rather severe security risks involved to their "space monopoly"?

If you've conquered a race (perhaps at gunpoint), would you really want to give them ships and weapons?
of course, I would just make sure the ships had no weapons and the weapons had no ammo. Send em to the front lines and figure out my enemy's strategy.
