Rogue Comets and Human Error

Hi, This is my first post eva, dont even know if i am going to get replies, but it would be good if i did. Anyway, i've been looking at Sins for a while and have finaly decided its awesome. i havnt tried the beta yet, but i will soon. So heres a question, dont blame me if it has already been answered, Are there rogue comets? and if so, can they colide with your ships? Im just thinking that if there are rogue comets or asteroids, they should be interactive, like tey can damage your ships, or you can farm them for resources. i dunno, what do you think?   also, i thought that to make the game more realistic, there could be a Human Error factor, like what could happen in reality. say, for example, during the chaos of a space battle, fighters can sometimes fly into debris, or even another fighter, damaging it or destroying it. I also just had a flash idea, wouldnt it be kool if ur in a battle, and one of your cap ships is heavily damaged and unable to run, u could command it to ram one of the enemy ships, or get close enough to self destruct, alowing for some form of damage to be done? im sitting there, playing homeworld online and one of my massive battlecruisers is about to die, and it explodes right next to the enemy. and guess what? despite the massive KABOOM! the enemy is still there just shaking it off as if nothing happened.  just A few thoughts.

OK, 1) please try to separate your ideas out instead of making one big block of text
2) please dont double/cross post (cross posting is posting an idea twice in two separate places

that being said,
Rogue comets wouldnt work because unless you could see them coming from far away, it would just add more micro, and if you could see them coming, they wouldnt do any damage since you would be ready for them.

Human error wouldnt really happen since computers would check over anything (hey devs, are the fighters robots or ppl?)

Yea, human error is discounted. The devs have given the explanation that military apparatuses and computers in the Sins universe are advanced enough to never make an error.

As for comets that is also a no, since there are no orbits I know of in the game. Plus a comet is pretty big, much bigger then a ship, not to metion that you would see it comming and move out of the way... hopefully.

but thats just it, it could be there as a punishment for people who dont move out of the way

Wow eet, your know for being random but, sheesh, going way off the topic of this post AND using that rather old phrase, AND explaining that it means when only a few people don't know what it is. You have officially descended at least 3 rungs of the ladder

Hmm. I like this idea GalacticaCAG. I feel random elements like this can add a lot of flavor to the environment. The challenge is to make them meaningful without favoring the 'lucky' player too much.

you could make them nutralesque like civ 4 bts did, have certain options and you can spend gold or not to fix it

yesh, some random elements r good, as long as they dont favour ppl its alrite. there could be a probability meter nd every now nd again, there could be a comet or sumthin that passes u by. it should also be interactive, not just painted on lawl. like u could shoot it down, or capture it for res. or capture it and put it in ur planets orbit, which u could then build defence thingys on it, sorta like a moon. or instead of proobability, it could "orbit" or go around the whole map in a wide circle and it could pass certain points at different times, so if u see one, u know not to put ur fleet there or u can wait for it and capture it. i dunno

I also like this random space comets idea.
