Funny Moments

I decided to open up a thread were we can share all our "LOL" in-game moments.
For example (and yeah, both of these depend on phase accelerators):
I just had the pirates launch a raid on my territory, and with 20K+ bounty on my head I wasn't even going to bother sending them elsewhere. So, I just parked 3 of my capitol ships right on top of the base->star phase lane the pirates had to take, anywhere in my territory they went. My capships started destroying the pirates in seconds, cutting a nice swathe through the pirates (and earning XP
), and then the pirates -- the rude idiots that they are -- jumped out on me! So, I just told the three capitols to jump independently to the planet the pirates were heading for.
And the pirates jumped in to say "Hi!" to my already arrived capitol ships. I laughed so hard -- the pirates jumped away from my ships just to meet 'em at their new destination!
Another similar incident was when I had a squad of light carriers running from some enemy vessels. They'd wait until the enemy vessels were almost in range, then jump out. Rinse, wash, repeat. I had a little circle going through a trio of dead asteroid planets and the enemy never did catch up. (No clue why the enemy kept running after them, though... seemed odd at the time).
