Well, download Stardock Central and install it. Then enter your email, your password. Go to the games section and download Sins beta 3 (somewhere along the line you'll need to use your code).

Yep. Once the beta is posted all the pending preorders will get charged, and the emails with the serials will go out.

Thanks for the info, guess I have to wait on the email with the code before killing online

Back when I preordered (all the way back in the days of beta 1) I somehow managed to associate my stardock account with my store account, so I never had to go through all this e-mailing of codes.

That's just a matter of using the same email address.

Anyone who didn't order with the same address as their forums/SDC account will need to request a merge from [email protected].

I remember i used to have difficulty because I assumed I had to log in with the email and username thats in the store account thinking that the SDC will also store it too.

Actually , SDC did not have a record of the email and username because it was only registered to the store. I had to create a new account rather then say im an existing member. Once I created a new email and username , i just used that and entered the serial and viola.

..i think this is what happened. hope it helps

The product has been registered, and it has it listed under the Purchase section. But yet when I select the product it doesn't give me an option to download the game what gives? is it because servers are down or something? Is there a work around to this

You need to select "Show Pre-release versions" to be able to download a pre-release (AKA beta) version.

Would be nice for a direct download link, i never had a problem though, becouse i also bought galciv2.

But for newer customers it can be quitte confusing i guess, the fact that you have to download it through a client program.

Eh, its the 'wave of the future' -- steam handles it far, far worse (you get the "shop" and the "games control" panels in seperate windows, but you don't get any other features of any kind...)

I was of similar opinion at first, but I've actually changed my opinion -- especially since I discovered that they've promised that, should their servers go down (in some permanent fashion), they will release tools to allow us to play the games we purchased even after that.

Edit: Which is to say, the system works, it works well, and its only real flaw is the possibility of loosing your internet connection.

There will also be a brand new download app included with the final version of Sins that will make things much easier.
