THQ has now officially announced Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Soulstorm, the next stand-alone expansion from THQ's internal studio Relic Entertainment that we discussed last week. We mentioned in the previous announcement that there was a new race being added to the Dawn of War franchise, the Dark Eldar. Little did we know that there will actually be two new races in the expansion, the second still unrevealed. Soulstorm will also increase the scope of the franchise, moving from a single planet to an entire star system.
"In Dawn of War - Soulstorm, we've taken Games Workshop's epic war from one planet to an entire star system," said Tarrnie Williams, general manager, Relic Entertainment. "Allowing gamers to play nine unique races, introducing air units and providing multiplayer achievements for the first time creates a tremendous amount of new and challenging strategic gameplay for all players."
