Once again i post a replay
This one has so many twists and many many huge battles with loses on all sides.
As the teams was not locked it had some very twisted alliances and what not

For a replay with all your twisted diplomacies and the like, this is it.

It's a shame Hobo, Derek and I ended up getting mini dumps at the same time towards the end, and we didn't get to finish it

That was a fun -- and twisted -- game. That said, I must strongly suggest teh devs look at resource gathering via refineries, as it pretty much died out at the end of the game, even with one or two refineries on most of my planets.

I thought the game must have crashed. I only left about 15 mins earlier and the game was far from finished would have been great to see who wins.

one other thing: in that game in particular I lost a bit track who was allied with whom, because I dont think it says anywhere after the starting screen.

I got a bit confused, too. I guess the point is to be able to keep some alliances hidden? Unless you just meant the starting alliances.

I meant both. for example, I forgot who you were allied with from the beginning and later whether the alliance was still up.

I wounder how multi and hindenberg found out we cooperated.

if you want, you could implement something for this. like a lvl 2 or 3 tech called "basic intelligence" and then you get the team alliances and changes to it.

Shadowhal,

Didn't know you cooperated. You were just on my border and kept sending in scouts. After we whacked Hobo/Dereknor by taking out their fleets and Dereknor's home world I repositioned back on your border thinking you might take a shot at me. When that didn't happen I invaded. Hobo/Dereknor were able to get back on their feet while I took out your home world and Ron's fleet. Was going to switch again and go after Hobo/Dereknor again while Ron defended when we crashed the game.

ah, well I was just about to fortify it into a monster planet when you showed up.

scouts were more for recon reasons. I dont trust people in this kind of games, so I wanted to have as much of an advance warning as possible in case you did anything stupid. I never scout as much as I want to, but I'd say information is pretty much the most important ressource in a ffa game.

I might have stood more of a chance, if I hadnt had so much trouble getting refineries up. so much money, but virtually no metal/ crystal.

besides ... attacking you when your fleets were busy would have been tempting, but annatar and his ai allies didnt leave either of us much chance to do so and since it would only have provoked a counter strike sooner or later we let it be.

And boy do I wish I'd sent in a few scouts of my own!

I had refineries up and that was true of me too -- the refinery output needs to be adjusted, I think.

Given all the spamming we'd done about the headaches Annatar was giving us, you'd think you'd know better

I'm surprised nobody managed to put two and two together I actually played both sides.. I was allied with Multi and Hindenberg from the early game, when Multi tossed me the pact after we mutually destroyed our flagships, Ron. Then I allied with you and Shadowhal when you offered. My allied chat should've been sent to both parties, even though Multi/Hinden were at war with you two. That's why I whispered you about pirates later on instead of using allied, since I didn't want anyone to figure it out, but some other stuff I said in allied should've raised some red flags

I only told Multi about my double sided alliance It put me in a perfect position, though. I wouldn't have backstabbed you, Ron, instead letting Hindenberg/Multi deal with you, and meanwhile I could focus on Derek and Hobo from behind, since their forces were busy with Multi/Hinden at the time

I'm evil

lol, and ron suggested approaching hindenberg and multi with an alliance. (which I did but of course he rejected)

you sure are a treacherous bitch my friend. but then thats what makes ffa so interesting. I am already looking forward to the next time. ( more likely weekend though as it seems to be a busy week for me).

Technically speaking, I didn't betray either alliance. But it was convenient because it left two sides I'm allied with duke it out, and I could keep busy with wiping out the last AI and Derek/Hobo and not worry about my borders
