GameInvestors.com CEO and founder of Shiny Entertainment David Perry has announced that the company recently completed its first million dollar investment deal between venture capital firm Mayfield and Acclaim Games whom Perry has been working with since leaving Shiny in 2006. The resurrected, in name and logo only, Acclaim has been restructured to bring eastern MMOGs to the western market and has recently seen Perry taking the spot of Director on their titles. The partnership has already brought several MMOs such as 2Moons, and DANCE!, to open-beta as well as another title that is still in production called Top Secret. Acclaim has also managed to launch BOTS and 9Dragons without Perry's support.
Perry commented on the deal saying: "Analysts have been calling us from around the world, very focused on this sector of the market. Acclaim was perfectly positioned in the game space, being entirely focused online, delivering microtransactions, pre-paid cards, digital distribution, massive audiences, in-game advertising, user-generated content, and with a portfolio of games for both casual and core demographics."
