Icons and Vista

Why don't they work?

Excuse me if I've missed something on this previously... I recently upgraded to Vista and none of the Icon packages I've used work!

They all fall apart or dissaper under Vista... what gives?

Is there a spcific area for Vista icons or have I just not installed them properly?

'preciate your help fellas.

Which ones are working . . which ones fail?  Examples might help.
Define "fall apart" and "disappear"
Screenshots might help too.

OK, well all the icons fail when you do a medium icons view, or anything above 'Small icons' view... look at this image:

So here the icons take on the desired packager design... But when I switch to medium view thye change from the desired icons, into the standard icons bit by bit (that's what I mean by fall apart) - they change to the standard icons one by one when I switch view.

I figure it has something to do with Vista requiring different sized original icons for each view but I don't understand why MS would do something so crass... XP rasterises to whatever res/size you have.

Any ideas here people?

just to be clear - look at the medium sized icons in the bottom pic... only one icon is as the desired icon... the rest have reverted to the standard vista icons.

Cheers people.

Your probably using Iconpacks not designed for Vista and that dont have correctly sized icons or do not have Vista icons made for those that are reverting to Vista defaults.

I could be wrong.

Awwww man... that's so awkward!

So in a nutshell, to make a full Vista suite of icons you either have to be a dedicated and well paid artist or just darn lucky.

Zubez, ya ruined my day!

LOL... that's so depressing.

Just did a search for Vista icon sets and nothing showed up
