I hoped you'd complain about your,
Stretched-out waistband.
Cause it makes me smile,
To think that the elastic is shot because of me.
Maybe my way,
Of staking claim,
To something you hide behind,
Various styles and colors,
Bows and ribbons,
Textures and patterns.
I hope they weren't your favorite pair,
But if so,
I'm willing to make amends,
If it will make you smile to seek revenge.
Call ahead,
And I'll prepare,
Standly proudly behind,
Flannel and fully cotton,
Vertical stripes and checkered,
Buttons and seams.
As we become,
Short of breath,
And your hands move to the waistband
Around my hips.
I'll offer you remove them with these scissors,
And eagerly await your snip snip snips.
