Bethesda Parent Receives $300 Million Investment

Funds to Encourage Growth in Development & Publishing Sectors as well as Finance MMOGs

ZeniMax Media has announced that it has received a $300 million investment from Providence Equity Partners to fund future endeavors including development, publishing and acquisitions. Thats not all though, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, famous for the Oblivion franchise in case you were wondering, will also use the several dumptrucks full of money to finance MMOGs.

This does not mean that the money will directly goto Bethseda Softworks by any means. ZeniMax, which was founded back in 1999, has numerous other game related companies under its belt including publishing elements for releasing third party titles and the newly created ZeniMax Online Studio, which is to focus on developing MMOGs. So its safe to say that the money will likely be spread around the company as a whole.

"We are pleased to partner with one of the best managed companies in the videogame industry," said Michael Dominguez, a Managing Director of Providence. "ZeniMax Media has an outstanding series of proven interactive entertainment content and a burgeoning position in the rapidly growing global video game market. We look forward to working with Robert to build value at ZeniMax Media over the long-term."
