Question about Specs

My computer matches the recommended specs in every way except its only 500mhz. Has anyone out there tried running GalCiv on a system just below the specs?

I don't see how this game would take too much juice to run, since I can run games like Alpha Centauri, MoO2, etc w/ no problems, but I want to be as sure as possible before I pay $$$. Thx in advance.

Yes, there are many of us running GalCiv on machines lower than the "minimum" specs. At worst, you will only have trouble (i.e. slowdown) on the largest maps. Stick to the small or medium maps and you'll be fine. You can run the larger maps if you don't mind the slight slowdown between turns.

I'm running it on a 550 MHz system and have no complaints. I have no idea why the box lists 600 MHz as minimum.
