Bribery and Backstabbing

Hello,

I am complete noob to GalCiv and am playing the "Bribery and Backstabbing" level on beginner. The objective is to create a lasting peace between the races. Everyone starts off at war with the me and the Korath Clan. I have given a ton of gifts (technology and money) to the Korx, Terran, and Altarians. I have changed my alignment to good and have a strong military. I have also researched all the diplomacy techs, accept Star Federation. They just keep telling me "Thanks, but the war will go on". How do I win this?

Thanks

Try to kill more of their ships than they kill yours, build some ships to add to your military rating. Like battleships whatever you can defenders and once they realize you can defend yourself they won't attack you. At beginner it's really easy. I usually play normal however.

Well... maybe this isn't the correct way the mission was intended to play but... when I saw that the three races were at war with me, I annihilated them before they could done the same with me. If this isn't the Drengin idea of an everlasting peace...

Heck I can't even get that far! I spend ages trying to put my weekly income in the black but nothing works, and if I wait too long then the enemies are too well developed to even touch, and they don't want to make peace. And this is on Cakewalk!? How the heck do I win? Nothing is working...

Basically, don't try to balance your budget. Build several fast survey ships to collect anomalies, then you can crush the opposition before you run out of money.

Alliance victory is nearly (if not entirely) impossible on this mission, and not worth the effort. Just crush them.

From what I learned its best to by all they tradegoods right up front and at they begining trust me you'll be glad you did because when your straped for cash you can sell it for money or technology.so try to harbor all the tradegoods and if that doesent work try going into your Xml technology file and add a tech which gives you alot of money I hopes this helps any.

The Drengin way to win is not 'everlasting peace', I believe they just threw that in there to make a change of pace.

The way the Drengin are supposed to win (in story, the way they do) are to wipe out the others and have an alliance with the Korath. Ignore that, just declare complete war on them and obliterate them.

Add "peace treaty" to the negotiation screen. You can 'buy' a peace treaty just like anything else on their side of the diplomacy screen, but you need to specify that it's what you want.
