Relic Entertainment, perhaps best known for their latest entries in the RTS field, including the Company of Heroes franchise as well as the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War series first made a name for themselves back in 2000 when they released the 3D space RTS Homeworld. They followed that critically acclaimed title up with Homeworld 2 in 2003 before being purchased by publisher THQ in 2004.

Many at that point thought that the series may have died since the Homeworld franchise was published by Sierra Entertainment, the owners of the intellectual property. Last week Internet sleuths spotted a filing at the US Patent & Trademark leading many to believe that THQ had negotiated the purchase of the IP. Today THQ confirmed just that, although they declined to comment if Relic will be working on the property.

If I were more self-centered, I'd think that companies do this stuff just to prove me wrong.

I upgraded my computer for the original title, first time I ever did it specifically for a game, although it also was the first time I had my own money and know-how to be able to do it.  Anyways my point was, I liked it.
