It looks great. Not exactly what I had in mind and maybe it can't be done.
I think I want to add a glyph or image to the state when no mouse is over it. I was looking for the Troll to loop until you clicked down with the mouse- then you see 'THUMP'. I tried messing with your settings then I remebered I had Drain Bamage. This will work. I may have screwed up the images I sent. On the 'THUMP' image, you will notice a border on each end. It looks like I forgot the border on the left on all the others. I will check what I have.

Questions;
Have I made the button, taskbar, etc., too big?
What do you think of the system tray? I just flipped the start button. Is it too redundant?
Any suggestions on design in general?
Not sure I like the resizing bar I made for the taskbar. Kinda blends in too much and doesn't do anything to accent itself or the taskbar.

Also;
In your previews..The start panel looks great in Skinstudio, but on your screen the edges look blurry and the shield looks stretched. I realize this is probably design errors on my part. DO I or CAN I do anything to fix this? (I was also wondering if the resolution was too high for the images? Would that matter?)

I really like what you did. (I'm playing with it right now...THAT sounded REALLY bad) I know it's hard to understand my 'explanations'. I really appreciate what everyone is doing. Anywho..Didn't mean to offend or sound ungrateful.

The issue is in sizing area,the image has to be stretchable so picking the exact points to stretch at is crucial.In areas that are design heavy it is harder to do examples...
user pane and log off section if I stretch the whole thing text and troll becomes distorted.I am still playing with some options do not start over yet let me see what I can do!

Another Update ..

This time I have put the Order of the Black Dragon Sheild into a Clock panel ...
while still using the Order of the Emerald Clock... and I have also made the captions a bit wider ...
I have yet to start editing the captions and backgrounds , but it still, at this juncture , looks quite good .... here ya go ..

If there is no further input, These are the panels I'm going ahead with. I wonder if I should change the text on the stump panel to the same as the others?

I'm going to get started on assembling the different elements I got from Po to make a wall that works with these.

FYI, I'm doing both wide and non widescreen versions of all the logons (a total of 6 in the package). I'm sure someone else can knock out Vista versions if they want (will take all of 10 seconds to do)

Thanks due to PO' for getting his bits and pieces to me ..

I have used the start panel pole png for the OPEN PANEL captions ,and a snatch of the frame of the matching logon for the CLOSED PANEL captions .. I have also done a border with the same ...

The clocks have been 'magic pinked' (DS does not support transparency yet ..) so that they also show the new background that Po' sent , This , of course , has given the Sidebar a bit of 'identity' now .. anyway ... here you go , this is what I got so far ..

Pixel size 149 x 123 pixels in png format would be great ... would you mind emailing it to me ..I think it would make an interesting clockface and also give the DS user more choice ..

I don't think so. It looks classy the way it is. I think the extra glare would knock it down a peg. IMHO


Is it me..or is it too much of the emerald effect? If it's not too much trouble, can you put a gold border around the buttons/bars? Just to see?

Will do! To mike as well. On later versions of the wallpaper, I have also rotated the seal 25 degrees cw to give it a more realistic look.


I tried out the glare on the panels way back, and it never looked right(at least I couldn't make it nice). I decided that the glare on the shields was there to give them a rounded look. Doesn't work on the flat panels.

HI Po .. I have just done this up for you ... If you are not happy with the 'new emerald background' , I can quite easily go back to the black one ..It's not a problem ...

As you can see now, there is a gold edge to the captions ..anyway ~ here ya go !!

I kinda agree with Po on this. The emerald background makes the bars blend in too much. I did also try a solid emerald panel for the logon once and was never happy with the result.

Looks nice with the gold trim on the bars

I Kinda agree with both of you ..hehe .. Right .. I have taken out the emerald background and gone back to the black one ... And I have to admit , with the new captions , it looks a LOT sharper too with more definition ...
