multiple trade routes..

Playing last night I started building trade ships (freighters) on and sent masses of them of to the only only race yet encountered in my Gigantic Galaxy game..

Today I read the manual which says by default we can have 3 trade routes.. oops!!

My question is what will happen when all those ships get to their destinations??

Well the first couple that get there will set up trade routes just fine. Once you reach the max. amount of routes you will get a message that says "we have reached the max amount of trade routes as prescribed by galactic law" if you try to establish more routes. I guess you will just have to have your freighters sit around until you research tech that gives you more trade routes.

Try selling those freighters to the aliens. They might just turn them around and establish a few more trade routes with you.

If the default # is three trade routes then how come I'm only allowed 2? There has been now random or UP event that lowered the number.

default number is now 2. Lots of techs allow you to have more though. I often build extra freighters and send them to far off planets on gigantic galaxies so that when I research a new tech the freighter is already there and I can instantly set up the new trade route. Saves years of travelling!
