Multiplayer? Help!

Dear all,

First I must say that I've been playing this game for little over a week and it's quite impressive and promising. Not only that, the prospect of mods will give this game very long life.

One question: How do I play multiplayer? Ironclad Online never has anyone online at my times...or maybe we use Gamespy or something else to play MP? Or maybe it's my router that allows me to Connect yet not show any games?

Nope, Ironclad Online is the way to go. Problem is, most of the beta players are probably from the USA/Canada. So they're on at different times.

You could try going in the #sins chat via stardock central. Usually there are more people there available for a game then in the in game chat.

Edit: Currently I see 6 people in the in game chat.

This is going to sound smart. Ive been playing since beta 2 and Ive never tried online. When I try to go on Ironclad online from the sins main menu it kicks be back out with a network error. If anyone can let me know what I need to do to get online I would be much obliged.

It sounds like a firewall is a problem. Try adding Sins to the exceptions (windows firewall, etc.). Running Sins in window mode may allow you to see eventual messages from the firewall (if it has such).

If all fails, you could try disabling the firewall for a short time to test it (although I don't recommend that).

adjusted the firewall and reinstalled beta 4, no dice. Is there anything I need to do other than download and install the beta from stardock and click on the inronclad online button from the sins main menu.

You shouldn't have to do anything more than that. What is the network error you get?

Do note that if you're behind a university or other organization firewall, they may be blocking it entirely and there's not much you can do about that.

I tried disabling my firewall but still get the same problem. For about twenty seconds it tells me it is trying to connect, then it says network error, disconnected from Ironclad online. I am not on a university connection, its my home connection. I think that this game is a load of fun even without the online options, just wanted to try.
