Benefits

Now I pre-ordered the game just before Beta 3 ended. I was just wondering if there were any other benefits like RPGs got extra items, do we get anything like that?

I think they mentioned that the preorder people will be getting the collectors edition or whatever it's called if they selected to get the boxed version in edition to the download... but I'm not sure if that is only for people who preordered before anyone knew that there would be a collectors edition or if it was for all preorder people.

The issue came up, and basically anyone who has participated in the beta (maybe there was a certain "cut-off" point, I'm not sure... I just remember I got "in" on that...) and chose boxed version is getting collectors edition; anyone who choose download only can contact ironclad / stardock and pay the extra for S&H to get the boxed collectors edition now...

I just can't remember when the cut-off, if any, was...

And how do I double check I choose boxed instead of download, lol... (I almost surely choose boxed, but now I'm nervous...)

It's in your confirmation email, assuming you haven't deleted it :P

just an fyi, stardock is NOT changing your order from digital download to boxed yet, hopefully blair/craig can give you a better estimate, but i think they wont be processing it until release. if you have any questions about your order, you can contact [email protected] and they'll help you out <3

As eet noted, if you bought only the download and want a CE box too, you'll need to wait until release. After release, you can then contact sales and request a box, which will cost you shipping and possibly a small media fee. Again to be clear, sales isn't presently taking order changes of this sort (only after release).

Howdy gang - here's the deal:

  • If you pre-ordered the physical copy of the game from Stardock, you will get the Collector's Edition version.  Supplies of the CE will be limited, but we don't forsee any issues for pre-order folk getting one (after release we can't guarantee).
  • If your pre-order has been charged already, you will be given the chance to upgrade to a boxed copy once the game is released for a small fee plus S&H (I believe it's $5 plus S&H). Make certain that your email address in your Stardock.net account is correct for this!  We may send out a mailer to inform folks of it.
  • If your pre-order hasn't been charged yet (i.e., you don't have access to the beta), then you can email [email protected] to change your order if you want to switch to the box copy. Pre-orders won't be charged until the game is released at this point.

The Collector's Edition will include the following bonus items:

  • Tech Tree Fold-Out Poster
  • 2 Artwork Posters
  • Hotkey Card
  • Music CD

But what you don't realize is that's all it includes...you'll have to buy the manual and dvd seperately :P

Edit: Yes, I am kidding.

I want to edit out the edit just to see some replies :(

Bah! Who needs a manual anyway? I mean, these days, manuals seem to have been relegated to single sheets of hotkey lists anyway. :/

I miss my old book-sized manuals. :p

I can't recall the last manual I read, maybe back in 2003 for sim city 4...

ah, but yarley wrote this manual (or will write it once hes done drinking -.-) and so there are sure to be multiple references to ponies that are pink and spacey!

As well as a disclaimer that no actual squirrels have been eaten during the making of this game.

Actually I've been working on the manual more today. It's quite the project and if anyone complains that it sucks, I will hurt them. :P

Details! What will you do? Break their fingers one by one, then the arms? Or do the same thing with legs? Hammer smashing?
