are the "evil" aliens stronger then the "good" aliens or is it just me?

I have them always set to bright intelligence and almost every game i've played the evil Drengin are always dominating the galaxy. They always go after the Torians and Altarians(both set to good) and end up eliminating them. I think I may set the good aliens to "intelligent" next game because it seems they're always lagging behind. Also the Yor(also set to evil) are pretty much a mixed bag..sometimes they're very weak..and other times they can be just as strong as the Drengin. Does anybody else see this trend or is it just me?

I see that trend. Keep in mind that the Evil dudes are set to focus on military, etc., and they must then conquest to keep up with money and such. So Good must help each other out, particularly earlier on. Gotta love how team play with a COMPUTER AI is so darn fun!

On the Yor point, I've seen the Evil AIs get bad starting positions, at which point they lose their entire advantage. So you can use the ctrl+N command to reseed the galaxy as best you can to ensure everybody has a good mix of planets nearby.

Yeah but GOOD guys don't have their EMPIRES split in half by events! I watched this happen to the Drengin in my current game... YEAH! That'll save my butt, at least for awhile.

Overall they seem balanced to me.

'Are there any actual stat modifiers gained/lost by alignment?'

Not directly, but the events that affect your alignment all have some sort of effects on your abilities except one or two.

Is has been discussed in another thread. It greatly depends on the settings and like Yin said, look for even starting positions. An isolated AI in a corner of the galaxy can't do that much.

I have had the Altarians and the Torians singlehandedly dominate the galaxy.
