Music no longer works

Updated the game with today's version - got sound effects but no music. Any ideas?

I Dk. Frogboy said something about the game crashing to desktop a lot b/c their mp3 player had far more than 4 soundbuffers like previous industry standard cards like soundblaster live. They said they would correct it, whatever that meant/did...

Check settings to make sure music is on.

Ok, Frogboy, that was the first thing I did :) No go, music is on, but it doesn't play. I know that this was put in here to prevent me from playing so your empire could catch up to mine, but it won't work . . . :)

Check your directories. Is the music still there? After I downloaded the update (it did the 85 meg for me) I lost all my music, my directories were empty and I had to redownload the multimedia.

After that everything was fine and this morning I updated to 1.01a.031 and it just downloaded the 1.03 mb file.

Hmm, where is the music, in the Playlist folder? If so, then it is empty and that might be it. I'm uninstalling the Multimedia so I can reinstall it through SDC - we'll see if that works. Thanks.

That should work Grifman, did the trick for me. I'm at work so I cannot check but I think there's more than just the playlistfolder. There should be something named music I guess. It should contain mp3's and if not, you should reinstall the mm.
