Side Bar

Changing Side Bar

I have spent the better part of the day trying to change the side bar in my Vista Home Premium. I had previously turned it off but recently I have seen some very cool SS from Chasbo and CarGuy with the side bar in use & I liked it. So I decided to play with it on my Laptop.
I downloaded & installed Windows Sidebar Styler & have been attempting to install some apps from Wincustomize Sidebar Gallery...to no avail. I can see them change in the Stylers display window but when I hit the apply button no changes take place. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've followed the steps in Windows Sidebar Theme instructions but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any advice for me except go back to XP...I like Vista when I can figure things out? Thanks for any help you can give.

Duke261 my friend I have no idea about Vista as I am using XP. All I can tell you is that I am using Thoosje sidebar. I change the PNG files of the "gadgets" to match the WB skin. I use Photoshop. I have no idea if you can do that in Vista. This is more or less how I make weather widgets and rainys to match WB skins too, that is unless someone like Lovely62 hasn't done it already. This method can also work on docks too. Once you fool with it for awhile you'll see it ain't rocket science. Hope the advice helped. :)

Yea Chasbo, I saw sidebar & right away thought Vista. That is very creative. Your recent sidebar work with "Sirus" is part of what got me interested in bringing back the sidebar some of the time.
