No dreamscene update available

I installed windows ultimate x64, then the updates, dreamscene was there. After that I put on SP1 and dreamscene still works. But I reinstalled windows because some problems. And I did it this way: I installed vista ultimate x64, then I put the SP1 RC1 on it, and then I go to the updates and Dreamscene isn't there.(the other extras were ok.)
So can anyone help me whit this, uninstalling sp1, or reinstalling windows isn't an option. It would be enough if someone could link me to a place where I can download dreamscene update whitout any path\crack\wga shit.

It's impossible. Even if there were an exe it would say 'this doesn't apply to your system'. Microsoft has already said sp1 RC doesn't work with dreamscene. I had this same problem and had to uninstall sp1. I don't understand why that's not an option, it works perfectly well to just go in and hit uninstall on sp1. I'm not sure why it works if you install it first, but it just does.

The only thing I see that might have caused the problem was the sequence that you showed. Install the OS, install updates to the OS, then install SP1 RC1. I don't run Vista so I don't know about uninstallin SP1. Did you go to the MS site to see if there are instructions for uninstalling SP1?

Well, yeah, the sp1 removal resolved the problem, but still, I will install sp1 again, now with dreamscene.

After the reinstall of sp1 dreamscene does works.

So this remains a mistery for me.

you can't do it the original way in your first post, but for me I can install dreamscene THEN sp1 and it still functions. I'm not sure what your problem is with installing dreamscene then sp1.

Ishan,

I have windows home premium with a dual monitor sys (20"LCD & 32" LCD Dual monitor/tv)
and live/ work in my home office. Since seeing all the cool dreamscenes, and not having really been exposed since I don't know anyone else with Vista, I was wondering if it was worth the trouble of upgrading to ultimate now; or waiting for the upgrade for my premium where I could run the deskscape 2 and use it with my current sys.

Any ideas?

I thank you in advance for any and all attention to my query,

Well since Vista SP isn't finished, then things like this are going to happen.

If the other features of Vista Ultimate interest you, then go for that upgrade.  If you are just wanting .dreams than I would say wait for DeskScapes 2.0.

:)
