Question about unique trade goods

I was wondering what the benefit of "unique" trade goods was other than the benefit it provides to your own planet. It seems that by trading, say "aphrodisiac" spice, you're simply giving free benefits to other races. I mean, yes, you can just trade with your allies, but that seems to have a limited usage. And if you cut of a trade route, does that planet lose that benefit?(it seems the obvious answer would be yes, but..i dunno)

Does having a unique trade item give any other bonuses? Like more credit income from freighters? What dictates how much you can make per freighter(economy, population, trade goods, etc.)?

thanks,

is there any place that lists all the trade goods effects currently in place?

Can anyone help me with these questions:

If you trade goods with one civ can you trade them with another? Sometimes they show up and sometimes they don't so I'm confused.

Is the trade good specific to the planet it's built on or empire wide?

When you trade a trade good do you lose it? Does the other empire get to trade it or do they just get the benefits of it.

You dont ever lose a trade good you built. When you trade it, you are in effect licensing them to build their own.

You are supposed to only be able to trade each trade good to one other civ. But, prior to this last update, you could trade them to multiple civs. Not sure if that was fixed or not.

Trade goods are pretty nice, and I dont really like to trade them. When the AI builds them, they want an arm and a nut to license them to you.

I've traded for them from other civs before, but afterward, I can't find any record of receiving the benefits. Is there any screen that shows what trade goods you are currently enjoying?

I think it's a great concept, but the documentation in-game on what's going on is woefully unrepresented.
