My ships seem to be wandering of the center of the tiles they occupy.

And it is getting difficult to get them to attack other race's ships because I can't tell
which tile they really are on.

I am about to try a re-start to see if that "corrects" the ships, but if it works it will
only mask the real problem. It will also show whether or not a save file will be useful
to Stardock.

Cheers,
Jack

I believe what you describe is one of the bugs we reported in the first Alpha run: That a ship gets "off-center" after some event, like combat, and stays that way.

So I figure it's a problem in the core of the program, that throws ships off by some pixels?

Cari,
I am sending you the saved game for this problem. You will find one of the off-center ships in sector
12-8. My Avatar looks like it is diaginally SW of another race's ship, but I have to move it E to attack.

Re-starting the game did not correct at least one of the off-center ships. I have the game preserved for
examination if need be.

Jack

xciv-iq,

I hope the saved game I sent them will help them figure out how it happens. My off-center ships also had been attacking othe ships. Sounds like the
same problem. I don't know why I thought a reload of the game would straighten them out. I guess the ship's position is not saved by sector, tile
number.

Jack

I just saw the advantage of this. ;) You can attack ships on two tiles at the same time. One enemy had
a ship orbiting a planet and a ship in the tile just above (N) the planet. My Avatar was lined up
one tile west of the planet (maybe a little less than one tile) and half a tile above the planet. I
got both the ship orbiting the planet and the one north of the planet with one push of the -> key.

Yeah we know about the problem, just working on other things right now. >:(
