No one in multi?

Maybe this post belongs in the beta forum, but this is more of a general game question.

I just got into the beta last night via my totalgaming account. The game is looking like its exactly what I was hoping for (Stardock does it again). However when I jumped into ironclad online and tried to join a game...I noticed there were no games...and only several people in the chat. I checked the boards to see if anyone had talked about this but I couldn't find a topic. Anyone know what the deal is? I know its a beta but I might be getting a few friends into the game who's interest (as is mine) is in the multiplayer function of this game. did Beta 3 or early releases of beta 4 have a decent amount of people in them? Just looking for someone to enlighten a newbie if you could be so kind, thanks :)

Right now, it depends on time of day, best bet is to get on IRC and get to know some people , and set a game up that way.

ppl mostly hang around on stardock irc server (channel #sins) to get games going.
The beta player community is ofc not that big and noone can say how it will look after release but if join irc and ask for a game then u will find someone to play most of the time.

I think many of the beta testers are mostly interested in single-player. Many of those who are interested in multi-player aren't playing it that much now until the release.

Yea with 15 days to go , people know they will be playing something alot better and tons more features so alot of people are waiting for this.

Having said that , try 11pm gmt time . Most busy time

Also, some people are doing what i'm doing.
Putting Sins away for a while, so the release will be that much sweeter.

I couldn't get beta, becauase I dont buy token, but rather pre-order download with box or something.

In addition to everything else, a lot of people have "burned out" on the current version -- we've had it for nearly 3 months now, and we're getting tired of the same bugs, the same flaws... and no patch. Once the game comes out, a large number of "retired" people will come out of the woodworks to check out the new features -- combine that with the number of people who will (hopefully) be picking it up at retail and we should have enough people to get a steady MP community going.

Great, thanks for all the info. This game is good enough that I feel it should start a small gathering for awhile.

Looking forward to the release and I will see you in the IRC.
