Australian Release....

So i have to ask its true that Australia wont get the game till about 2 months after release?? if thats the case can i ask why? (now that i have had my b!tch)

The game looks fantastic, even though i have not played any beta versions of it. I am a massive fan of homeworld 2 and Galciv 2, and i dont think there are enough space games out there.

Great job and look forward to playing it :)

because afaik they are still in negotiations with an Australian distributor and so are waiting on that. either that or the Ausie destributer wont release it till then anyway

best to go the digital download option... this is happening more and more with Australian releases. I assume because the distributor here is asking for too much (probably lack of competition)

The Australian publisher has been on board for a while, the negotiations are with a European one. Can't tell you the reason for the time difference because I don't know, but I would guess because they need time to get/manufacture/distribute the discs there.

I'm from NZ and I just gave up trying to get game locally and ordered it online. Worked out cheaper with none of the hassle.

Sad really when you talk to local game stores and they don't have a clue. Unless a game gets heaps of media hype they don't have a clue. Real bad trend for gaming....sry went a little off topic then LOL

I don't think it's just games with no hype. When I went to my local Gamestop to pick up World in Conflict on release day, they had no clue what the game was, even though WiC got lots of online media attention and had a lot of hype surrounding it.

When I went down to EB last week to preorder neither guy in the store had heard of Sins. They sure got excited fast when I mentioned the pedigree of the devs working on it though. Regardless I have since cancelled my preorder there and ordered online instead after learning about the collector's edition :)

yeh, went to EB games in Australia, they didnt have a clue.....although when the guy asked someone out back, SHE replied back that she had heard of it..... and we had a large discussion on the game, and its release.....although i cant really remember the convo that well..... for one she was HOT....for two i was still reeling at the fact that someone looking like this was interested in games, let alone a member here. It was the weirdest thing ever.... and i am still surprised at the fact shes probs looking at this post RIGHT NOW....

The game is set to be released in Australia/NZ by Auran in April. Assumably they're waiting to their own box/packaging/advertisements/etc until the game is finalized (that's what I'd expect, beging the most logical explanation).
