Cultural Strategy, the Torian way.

It's a pretty minor bug, but I've ran across it a few times. It's good for a laugh, but there should probably be a check to be sure the tech researched is actually a cultural or economic one before pairing it with this report text.

I've only really played TA, so I don't know if this is a lingering bug, or if it's been this way forever.

Planetary Invasion is an economic/cultural strategy. By taking planets, you increase your footprint, increase your total population and thus your income.

It also increases your soldiering. So they may well want peace but also be wanting to protect themselves from Invasion be researching it.

Lol. I've seen that bug too. For example the Yor were pursuing a cultural victory by researching 'Doom rays'.

Well if they want to call it that, I'm not going to argue with them.

...at least until I get better weapons/defense!

They are probably close to a cultural victory or have a high economy, do the message. Then it probably takes whatever tech they are reaserching and tells you.

Not a bug, but it could still be fixed never the less.

Funny considering that the Yor have little to no influence techs.

They are pursuing it...invading worlds of other races until they pick up some of the influence techs. If their tech tree has nothing for them, check the rubble of other races' worlds until you find something.
