How do I get a high score?

I was wondering if anyone knows what things result in a high score.
Does it pay to build a massive fleet at the end of the game just to up your score even if going for a peacful score?
How important is the speed of winning? Does it pay to play a bit longer to get a larger empire?

The scoring is totally whacked right now as far as I am concerned. See the "Metaverse Scores" thread in this forum for a run-down on the conversation.

Yeah and it's heavily balanced toward larger galaxies, etc. Good plan is just not to worry about the scoring so much and just keep enjoying the game! :)

If you're worrying about the score you're missing a lot of fun in the game. Just try to win one of each type victory and see what happens :D After all, the Universe goes on and your job/income today doesn't mean much if the quality of life sucks ;p

I agree Anaynamewildo.
I was just wondering how people got these enormous scores. I really like playing the game at increasing difficulty levels. I enjoy the challenge this game is giving me. I've never experience this with any other 4x/TBS game yet :)
