Wait a moment.... Day 1 update??

srry, my bad for only just noticing this, but is the update going to be available after that day? because i live at two houses (parents split up) and my computer is only at one of them. on release day, i dont know which house i am going to be at, but if im not able to get access to my computer, i wont be able to get the update.... So please tell me it will be available afterward X-(

yes it will, it's basically an immediate patch without the negative connotations.

99% sure they are saying the patch/day 1 update will be available the day of the release, not for one day only.

The day 1 bonus package will be available after day 1. It's not a patch because there is more bonus content than there are fixes and even then, most of the fixes are pretty minor. You will be able to play and have fun with a very stable version of Sins right out of the box.

aww man this sux....i would really like to have the bonuses.....is someone able to save a copy of it 4 me? when does the 'day' end? canadian time? because the release of the game is first day of school for me....and i wanna be able to download it when i come home. hopefully the different time zones wont stuff this up.

Galactica... You misunderstand. Its NOT 1 day, its Day 1. Just means the update will be available to DL and apply starting on the 1st day of release. It will still be there on Day 2, Day 3, and even Day 365. no worriez, man.

Technically I guess it's a Day-0 thing. It's a Bonus Pack that adds more extra goodies into the game. If you ordered direct from Stardock, you won't notice it because it's integrated straight into Stardock Central (i.e., you don't have to download it separate).  If you have a retail game then you'll be able to just grab the update files after registering your serial number.

Stardock typically puts out Day-0 bonus packs as a reward for customers who buy the game and don't warez it. ;)

Is it possible to know the content of that Bonus "patch" Is it new maps, new race, etc?

Someone mentioned it in another thread. I think it's new maps and the Forge Tools for modding, primarily.

yes, it will autoupdate for you reddy, no worries ;)

won't we need to download the retail version in its entirety?

To many changes to just patch the heck out of it compared to beta 4?

Yes, you will have to re-download the game come release. Completely.

Talking about release, will the game be available right at 12:00am (on release day )from stardock central?

Unlikely. Kryo said they generally don't do midnight releases, so probably not very long after their offices open. Actually, looking at the other thread, sounds more like late afternoon rather than morning.

now that's something. not only do you deliver a more complete game than other companies (which have problems to get their games working even after 5 or so patches), you also
reward paying customers (wonder if EA ever heard about that ;)). my guess is that it's not driving you into bankruptcy, but i suppose it takes a lot of work...

so, big kudos for your attitude towards this business! (now, someone eventually has to say it, right?) :CONGRAT:

Hehe... we've been saying it :D

I for one make a habit of buying every new SD game -- if not at release, then shortly thereafter.
